What Allie Is

Allie is a Life Secretary that helps families coordinate through SMS. You text Allie to store information, ask questions, and manage your household knowledge. This policy explains how we handle the data that flows through that relationship.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Messages. When you or your family members text Allie, we store the content of those messages to build your family knowledge base. This is the core of how Allie works. Your messages are what make Allie useful to you.

Knowledge base. Facts, preferences, schedules, and other information you share with Allie are stored so Allie can answer questions accurately in the future.

Usage data. We collect basic analytics about how you interact with our website and dashboard, including page views and feature usage. We do not track you across other websites.

How We Use Your Information

• To operate Allie and respond to your messages accurately
• To build and maintain your family knowledge base
• To improve Allie's ability to understand and respond to messages
• To send you service-related communications (not marketing)
• To detect and prevent abuse of the service

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your messages to train AI models. Your family's knowledge stays yours.

Third-Party Services

Allie uses the following services to operate:

• Twilio for sending and receiving SMS messages
• Anthropic (Claude) for understanding your messages and generating responses
• Supabase for secure data storage and authentication
• Vercel for hosting our website and application

Each of these services has their own privacy policies. We select partners who maintain strong data protection standards.

Data Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest. Access to your data is restricted by row-level security policies, meaning your family's data is isolated from every other family's data at the database level. We do not log message content in our application logs.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, we remove your knowledge base, messages, and account information within 30 days. Some data may be retained in encrypted backups for up to 90 days.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your account and data
• Export your knowledge base data
• Withdraw consent for data processing

Children's Privacy

Allie is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of Allie after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
